Walter Egan, (born 07.12.48 in Jamaica, New York) is best known for the 1978 hit "Magnet and Steel" from his album Not Shy, produced by Lindsey Buckingham and Richard Dashut. I've always loved this song...something about it is like 50's be-bop but morbid in a drugged-out Glam way. Egan also wrote "Hearts on Fire," covered by Gram Parsons on his album Grevious Angel.
